During a day trip to the Almond Festival back in 2016 owner and self-described FarmHer, Sherri Wood, had the feeling of being transported to another world as she gazed upon pink blossoms, blue skies and the rolling hills of Capay Valley. This experience set in motion her life long dream to live in the country. A year later she purchased 28 acres and cleared out an old almond orchard to make way for what is now a flourishing property with five+ acres of organic culinary and aromatic lavender.

Everything about the property reflects Sherri's aesthetic - her custom built farmhouse and bocce ball court is the centerpiece, accented by fig fenceposts and surrounded by over 10,000 lavender plants. There is also a recently refurbished barn from the 1930s which houses lavender processing tools including a thresher and a beautiful copper alembic distiller. This is where she makes her signature Herbs of Capay blend and essential oils. Another venture will soon be added to the mix- her own label honey harvested from recently placed bees.

Sherri hopes that Patchwork Farm becomes a place where visitors can take classes in essential oils, celebrate special events, or just "relax with and enjoy the beauty of the land and this spectacular valley."

To Our Art and Ag Artists,

As you may know, the Board of Supervisors has given the go-ahead for limited outdoor activities in Yolo County. We are thrilled to be able to resume our farm visits!

To ensure safety of all concerned, YoloArts Greeters are taking the following precautions:

  • We will be wearing face coverings
  • We will practice 6' social distancing
  • We will check each artist off the RSVP list and ensure that no equipment (clipboard, pen and paper) is shared.

Just as importantly, we are asking artists to take the following precautions:

  • Upon check-in, remain in your car (provide visual confirmation of possession of face covering)
  • Wear face coverings while interacting (at a safe distance) with other artists.
  • Use bathrooms when absolutely necessary. Wash hands after using restrooms. (Restrooms will be disinfected every hour).
  • Stay at home if you are feeling sick

If you have specific questions not addressed here or on our website please feel free to contact us. We will keep you updated on any changes.

THANK YOU! WE REALLY LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU!
