Amigo Bob Cantisano comes to Modoc!
The Heritage Fruit Tree Project presents Amigo Bob Cantisano on Sunday, March 25, 1-4 pm at the Davis Creek Community Hall. You will meet Amigo Bob and learn about the work being done in Nevada County by the Felix Gillet Institute, founded by Amigo Bob in 2003 to identify, preserve, and propagate heritage fruit trees.
Amigo Bob will describe the work of the Felix Gillet Institute as old fruit trees were found in the Sierra Nevada on homesteads and farms, in mining camps and towns. They learned that these heritage fruit trees often show resistance to harsh weather, drought, insects and diseases to produce remarkable crops without much help. This event is designed to help us delve into Modoc County’s treasure of heritage fruit trees just waiting to be rediscovered, rejuvenated, and put into production.
After Amigo Bob’s presentation, everyone is welcome to walk over and see the heritage fruit trees on the Ingraham’s property.
We hope to see you in Davis Creek!
